My journey, over the past 7 decades is in many ways, your journey. After all, we share a common culture, similar values and experiences that are more alike even if a bit different. We have come far. Witnessed many changes.
Our world, as always is dangerous, chaotic, unjust, magical and wonderous. One the one hand, by nearly every measure, we live in a time of unprecedented prosperity. Never have so many lived so well, in good health for so long. Not everyone. Not everywhere. We do so under a backdrop of relative peace and harmony. On the other hand our nation and the world feels and often is random, violent, unstable, and corrupt.
How do we make sense of, let alone reconcile these contradictory realities?
I created the Here’s My Take Blog to examine and discuss events that have impacted and shaped our world. Taking a fresh look will provide new perspectives and enable us to arrive at a deeper understanding of ourselves, our society and how we fit into natures grand scheme.
Allow me to submit regular blog posts on a variety of topics to get the ball rolling. Then join in the conversation. I welcome your comments, advice, criticism or reasoned alternatives. I believe we can all agree that truth matters, even when the facts are illusive. Avoiding the pitfalls of disinformation can be challenging. Through our collaborative efforts however, we can and will arrive at realities we can trust.

P.S. My blog will also include “distractions” I hope you find enjoyable. They include a bit of personal history along with recommendations on a variety of topics like Movies, Music, Literature and more. They are in the works and you will be the first to know when they have been completed.
I left my home and my family in the small Western New York city of Batavia in March 1977 vowing never to shovel snow again. Never say never. Settling for 38 years in what was for me the “promised land” of Santa Barbara, California. I married, helped raise a family, started a business, traveled and live a wonderful life. We spent the last 10 years of our west coast journey in the small, quiet, picturesque town of Ojai. My oldest friends call me TJ.
My wife Deborah and I moved to Colorado in 2015 to be near our daughter, her husband and 2 growing grand-boys. Add 2 bulldogs (French & English) to the mix and our hands and hearts are full. We all reside in Niwot, a small quaint town 15 minutes north of Boulder. The mighty Rocky Mountains are at our doorstep.
I am a man, son, brother, cousin, friend, husband, father, uncle, grand father, in-law and mostly retired Coloradan. You can read more about me on the About Page. If you are curious about my professional life you can visit my Career at Venture Horizon.
I am working on “enhancements” to this blog. Additions will include a few relevant Timelines that will be very familiar along with my personal recommendations on Media Arts & Culture. My goal is to provide meaningful entertainment while offering up stimulating ideas. I will notify you upon their arrival.
My legacy and perhaps yours is mostly established. The relationships we have cultivated with family, friends and the larger community will outlive us. If we have done it right, this is our most significant contribution to the human journey of life on earth.
